Heat Traceability
The link between a finished item and the melt it came from, carried by marking and certificate.
Traceability is only real when the heat or lot number is marked on the item and recorded on the packing list, not merely on a bundle tag. For cut-to-nest kits, each blank carries both the part number and the heat so the kit can be verified at the build line. Re-bundling mixed heats on site destroys traceability and, on a defence order, usually the acceptance with it.
